The latest FLY Program marked an exciting milestone for fresh graduates eager to enter the aviation industry. The final step of the FLY program’s Vol. 4 took place at SunExpress Airlines’ headquarters in Antalya, bringing together 20 talented candidates who had already passed rigorous selection stages. This event was designed not only to evaluate their skills but also to inspire and introduce them to the vibrant world of aviation. The day was divided into two key parts: presentations by company teams and a hands-on case study challenge. The experience offered a unique glimpse into the airline’s operations and a chance for candidates to showcase their problem-solving abilities.
Learning from SunExpress Teams
Before lunch, the finalists had the opportunity to meet representatives from 11 different teams within SunExpress Airlines. Each team shared insights about their roles and daily work, providing a comprehensive overview of the company’s structure and operations. This session aimed to inform candidates about the variety of career paths available and to spark enthusiasm for joining the airline.
The teams covered areas such as flight operations, customer service, maintenance, marketing, and human resources. For example, the flight operations team explained how they coordinate schedules and ensure safety standards, while the marketing team highlighted strategies for engaging customers in a competitive market. These presentations helped candidates understand how different departments contribute to the airline’s success and how their own skills might fit into this ecosystem.
The Case Study Challenge
After lunch, the focus shifted to a practical exercise. The finalists were divided into four groups and given a case study related to a real-world aviation challenge. This task required them to quickly form teams, analyze the problem, develop solutions, and prepare presentations. The case study tested their ability to collaborate, think critically, and communicate effectively under time pressure.
Watching the group's work was inspiring. Despite the unfamiliar topic, candidates quickly organized themselves, assigned roles, and brainstormed ideas. Their presentations demonstrated creativity and confidence, showing that they could apply their knowledge in practical settings. This exercise also allowed the SunExpress team to observe how candidates perform in a team environment, a crucial factor for success in the airline industry.
Diversity and Passion in Aviation
The finalists were selected from nearly 5,000 applicants representing various cities, universities, and academic backgrounds. What united them was not prior experience but a shared passion for aviation. This passion drives their motivation to learn and grow within the industry, even if it means starting fresh in a new field or location.
FLY offers a fast-track route into aviation for fresh graduates, emphasizing equal opportunities regardless of background. The program encourages candidates to chase their dreams, whether that means joining a different department, moving to a new city, or even relocating to another country. This inclusive approach reflects SunExpress Airlines’ commitment to building a diverse and talented workforce.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
The final day ended with warm farewells and hopeful anticipation. Most finalists will receive offers to join SunExpress Airlines, and the team looks forward to welcoming them as new colleagues.
For those interested in joining the next round, Vol. 5 applications will open soon. Keep an eye out for announcements and prepare to take your first step into the aviation world.
