Our SunnyPeople series continues to expand, and today, I am thrilled to share the third installment of our JetStream Vol. 2 journey. Following the insightful stories of İrem and Başak, we turn our attention to Ayşe Melisa Bağcıvan, a professional whose energy and determination perfectly embody the spirit of SunExpress.

Meet Ayşe Melisa: A Journey of Growth

Born in 1998 in Adana, Ayşe Melisa holds a degree in English Language and Literature from Suleyman Demirel University. Before joining SunExpress, her path began in the field of education, where she refined her communication skills and adaptability. Since 2022, she has been an integral part of our Cabin Crew team, ensuring both the safety of our skies and the comfort of our passengers.

Beyond the operational excellence required in her role, Melisa describes herself as a lifelong learner. For her, aviation is not just a profession; it is a discipline that demands stress management, team harmony, and the ability to act clearly under pressure.

The JetStream Experience: Investing in Potential

When the JetStream project opened its doors to Cabin Crew members this year, Melisa saw it as more than just a program—it was an investment in her future.

“I wanted to test my limits and better understand my potential,” she says. “JetStream is not just about gaining knowledge; it’s about character building. Every stage of the process, even the challenging ones, has helped me grow.”

For Melisa, the program has been a bridge between operational excellence and managerial foresight. She is already noticing a shift in her decision-making process and her ability to view the "big picture" of aviation. The collaborative environment within the JetStream cohort has been a source of support and motivation, reinforcing her belief in her own leadership capabilities.

Staying Resilient

When asked about the soundtrack to her journey, Melisa chose Sia’s “Elastic Heart.” It serves as a reminder that in high-pressure environments, the key is not just to withstand the pressure, but to remain flexible, adapt, and keep standing strong, a philosophy she carries into every flight and training session.
