Welcome back to the second edition of our Sunny People series, where we continue to introduce the amazing individuals who make SunExpress Airlines such a vibrant place to work. Today, we are proud to feature Janset, a professional whose journey from flight operations to compliance monitoring showcases the diverse career paths available within our family.

Who is Janset?
Born in 1989 in Bandirma, Janset brings a unique academic background to our team. He graduated from the Russian Language and Literature department at Gazi University, later earning his master degree in International Logistics and Transportation from Istanbul Gelisim University.
Janset joined SunExpress in January 2020, just before the global pandemic reshaped the industry. After nearly five years of dedicated service in our Ground Operations Control Center (GOCC), he recently transitioned to the Compliance Monitoring Department in late 2024. Outside of work, Janset is a musician who loves playing the guitar and listening to music. His all time favorite song is November Rain by Guns N' Roses, a classic we invite you to enjoy while reading his interview.
Q: Could you explain what Compliance Monitoring is and its significance?
Janset: We operate under strict safety and operational standards set by international regulatory authorities. Compliance Monitoring plays a crucial role in ensuring that we adhere to these regulations at all times. Far from being just a legal checkbox, this function boosts our operational efficiency, minimizes potential financial losses, and, most importantly, ensures the safety of every passenger. I like to think of it as a strategic superpower, sometimes it even feels like being Sherlock Holmes (investigating and ensuring everything is exactly as it should be).
Q: What has been your most memorable or adventurous experience at SunExpress?
Janset: While working in GOCC involves being in the center of the action every day, my most memorable experience actually took place outside the office. In December 2022, I participated in the Antalya Ultra Marathon for the first time and completed 12 kilometers. It was an incredible day, made even better by the company of my amazing colleagues. We ran together, shared many laughs, and spent quality time as a team before and after the event. It was an unforgettable experience that truly highlights our internal bond.
Q: What does #LifeAtSunExpress mean to you?
Janset: The work environment here is fantastic, and my colleagues make every single day enjoyable. For me, SunExpress is not just a workplace, it truly feels like home. My sense of belonging here runs deep. I previously worked as a cabin crew member in Istanbul, but when I decided to move to Antalya, my primary goal was to join this family. Achieving that goal was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I often tell myself that I am glad I made that leap.
A special thank you to Janset from SunExpress Compliance Monitoring for being a trusted partner and for his continued contributions to our team. It is a pleasure to see our colleagues grow and take on new challenges within the company. Stay tuned for more stories from our Sunny People series as we continue to reach new heights together.
