We are thrilled to continue our Sunny People series by introducing Zehra, a professional who brings a scientific approach to the world of procurement. From her roots in Ankara to her current role in Antalya, Zehra’s journey is a testament to the diverse talent and academic excellence within SunExpress Airlines.
Who is Zehra?
Born in Ankara in February 1993, Zehra spent her formative years in the capital before making the move to Antalya to join our family. She is a proud alumna of Middle East Technical University (METU) where she completed both her bachelor and master degrees. Her academic focus on organizational psychology, engagement, and satisfaction provides her with a unique perspective in her professional life.
For over two years, Zehra has been serving as our Marketing Procurement Specialist. When she is not busy navigating complex contracts, she enjoys listening to heavy metal. Her current favorite track is The Gift of Guilt by Gojira, and we encourage you to give it a listen to experience her vibrant energy while reading.
Q: Could you explain what procurement means and your role in it?
Zehra: Procurement is essentially the strategic process of sourcing and acquiring the goods or services a business needs to operate effectively. It involves identifying the right partners, negotiating contracts, and ensuring we receive the highest quality and value. In my specific role, I manage partnerships with agencies and suppliers to ensure SunExpress delivers top tier marketing campaigns efficiently and cost effectively.
Q: What has been your most adventurous or innovative day at SunExpress?
Zehra: One of the most exciting experiences was conducting an electronic reverse auction for a specific company need. This is a bold and fast paced process where suppliers compete in real time by offering lower prices. It lasted thirty minutes and watching it live with our stakeholders was an intense experience. We secured an exceptional deal, proving that embracing innovation and taking calculated risks can lead to outstanding results in procurement.

Zehra: I truly value the positive and supportive atmosphere here. The warm attitude of my colleagues makes SunExpress feel like home, and the sense of teamwork is incredibly strong. I also appreciate the opportunity to collaborate across different departments, which allows me to expand my skills on diverse projects. It is a dynamic environment where personal growth is encouraged and every day brings new, motivating challenges.
